DAVID STEWART

Founder

David is a veteran of the recruitment industry with over three decades of experience across private, not-for-profit, and publicly listed sectors.

He founded Alliance Australia in 2011 and served as it’s CEO until 2023. He remains involved in the business to this day providing advice and guidance to the leadership team. David also serves as a non-Executive Director on the Board of the RCSA (the industry peak body) and is a committee member and past Chair of the Association of Nursing Recruitment Agencies (ANRA), where he leverages his extensive expertise to champion the interests of nursing and healthcare agencies, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met. 

In recognition of his outstanding contributions, David was awarded the prestigious ‘Recruitment Leader of the Year’ title by the RCSA (Recruitment Consulting and Staffing Association of Australia and New Zealand) in 2019.

Executive Director

James is a seasoned strategic leader with a wealth of experience driving transformative change, operational excellence and business performance. His prior leadership roles included Executive Director of Procurement Reform within NSW Health, and leading operational businesses as Director of Patient Support Services at HealthShare NSW. 

This experience brings a fresh perspective to Alliance Australia, along with a wealth of insights from the health sector targeted at delivering operational enhancements and equipping the organisation to successfully grow into the future.

CAROLINE SMITH, Chief Commercial Officer

CAROLINE SMITH

Chief Commercial Officer

Caroline is a passionate leader with a proven track record in finance and business. She brings over 15 years of experience in accounting, financial planning, and business partnering to her role as Chief Commercial Officer. 

Prior to this she held leadership positions at Brambles, Mission Australia, and St Vincent's Health Australia, she leverages her strong business acumen and people skills to optimise processes, drive growth and foster a positive culture in the wider business.

Head of Assurance

Kylie is our Head of Assurance, and also serves as National Workplace Health and Safety Manager. With over 20 years of experience, she has a proven track record in developing and supporting safe workplace systems and culture. Her qualifications and experience in WHS and Occupational Therapy provide her with a holistic approach to OHS risk management and injury recovery. 

This includes roles in public and private sector health, specialising in traumatic brain injury rehabilitation. Kylie leverages this expertise to help the organisation stay legally compliant and drive business processes and culture for a sustainable, healthy, and productive workforce.

AMANDA WOOD, Head of Marketing, Commercial

AMANDA WOOD

Amanda is a senior marketing and communications professional with more than 20 years’ experience across the tourism, financial services, education, health and business services sectors. 

During her tenure with the organisation, she has been instrumental in developing Australia’s leading youth careers program, Skillsroad, and in 2018 delivered the largest youth research project of its kind, the Skillsroad Youth Census. Amanda also led the repositioning of Apprenticeships Careers Australia, which won Marketing Campaign of the Year at the 2018 RCSA Awards. She has since steered the development of the Alliance Australia, Alliance Nursing and Alliance Community brands and the subsequent rebranding of our portfolio of businesses to create a national presence in the market.

SCOTT HANCOCK, General Manager - Alliance Nursing

Scott has over 25 years’ experience in recruitment and contingent labour force service delivery. He has led our Queensland and Northern Territory operations since 2012, where his leadership covers strategy, risk, compliance, sales, contract management and operational performance. During his tenure Scott has also overseen the successful merger and acquisition of RNS Nursing and CQ Nurse into the Alliance Nursing brand. 

His remit includes national delivery of the brand's strategic direction and overall operational excellence. Scott's extensive experience across large blue-chip corporations and SMEs makes him uniquely positioned to help the business develop and execute its strategic vision.

Peter has over 22 years of experience in the recruitment industry across strategy, finance, people management, industrial relations, clinical governance, and regulatory compliance. Since 2011, overseeing the growth and development of its national nursing, home care programs and industrial agency business. Peter excels in contract and account management, client service delivery, candidate care and Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S). 

Peter has continued to invest in building his experience across clinical governance it’s frameworks and is a tenacious truth seeker who is passionate, enthusiastic and has the technical expertise with a true understanding of the sectors he is operating in.

Luke heads Apprenticeship Careers Australia (ACA), our group training organisation (GTO) that connects apprentices and trainees with employers in a variety of industries. He is a highly experienced recruitment professional spanning 20+ years and manages 8 branches with close to 600+ apprentices and trainees across varied industries. 

Luke is passionate about helping young people get the skills they need to succeed in the workforce. He is also committed to supporting the business in their efforts to recruit and retain skilled employees.

John heads our casual and temporary workforce solutions brand, Extrastaff. He has over 30 years of experience in the recruitment sector, as a Corporate Account Manager, National Sales Manager, General Manager and State Operations Manager. 

John brings invaluable insights to the business from his work with local government authorities and councils, including the City of Sydney. He also has extensive exposure to industry vendor management system (VMS) providers and managed service providers (MSP's), within the NSW Government Contingent Workforce Scheme.

Kate is an accomplished leader in the healthcare recruitment and labour hire sector with 22+ years of industry experience. Her proven track record includes building strong partnerships with government departments and major public and private hospitals, showcasing her deep understanding of their staffing requirements. Her background uniquely qualifies her to oversee our expanding International Supply Chain division and Corporate Health portfolio. 

Kate was recognised for her achievements with the ‘Recruitment Professional of the Year’ title by the Recruitment Consulting and Staffing Association of Australia and New Zealand (RCSA) in 2022.
